Confused if i should enter devops field or not

r/devops (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-10 · 32.2/10

So, i am in 3rd year(6th sem) and i want to enter devops field. If i start now, would it be useful? how many months of preparation can make me decent in this field? also i know web development(mern stack). I have no other experience other than this in web development. Also if anyone can tell me what are all the things one should learn before getting into devops would be very much appreciated. submitted by /u/Old-Entertainer-3808 [link] [comments]

Docker images are hundreds of MB; a full game engine compiles to 35MB WASM

There was real momentum around server-side WASM a few years ago — runwasi, kwasm, Cloudflare Workers. What happened to it? Why has adoption slowed down so much? submitted by /u/c1rno123 [link] [comments]

I built Orbit — an open-source modern VPS dashboard that combines metrics, logs, firewall, Docker and deploys in one Go binary

r/devops (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-09 · 20.2/10

Hey everyone, I was tired of juggling multiple tools to manage a VPS, so I started building Orbit. Goal: one binary install modern UI metrics logs firewall controls Docker management deployments Still early, looking for honest feedback from self-hosters. What would make you actually switch from your current setup? GitHub: [Orbit GitHub]() submitted by /u/Cultural_Shake_3995 [link] [comments]

Fast API provider for Qwen3.6 27B or 35B A3B for AI agents in the US?

r/devops (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-09 · 16.2/10

I’m choosing between Qwen3.6 27B and Qwen3.6 35B A3B for an AI agent that helps users solve everyday household tasks. Right now I’m using Qwen3.6 27B via OpenRouter, but sometimes it takes around 10 seconds just to start responding to a simple "Hello!", even with streaming enabled. My servers are hosted in the US, so I was thinking about switching to DeepInfra, but the traceroute to DeepInfra looks pretty long from my server. Does anyone know a fast API provider for servers in the US w

Auditor here: how do you approach understanding what all an application does?

r/devops (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-09 · 14.4/10

Hey, all. Was recommended to share this in here as opposed to r/sysadmin . The recent news between Chrome and its stealth 4GB installation, as well as Edge putting passwords in plaintext had me wondering, as someone without much in-depth technical knowledge of how some applications work: how do you go about discovering all that it can do? I’m asking this from a perspective of someone who is responsible for implementing controls on data and information security handling. For example, I may requir

Show HN: Building a web server in assembly to give my life (a lack of) meaning

Hacker News (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-10 · 13.8/10

This is ymawky, a static file web server for MacOS written entirely in ARM64 assembly. It supports GET, PUT, DELETE, HEAD, and OPTIONS requests, and supports Range: bytes=X-Y headers (which allows scrubbing for video streaming). It decodes percent-encoded URLs, strictly enforces docroot, serves custom error pages for any HTTP error response, supports directory listing, and has (some) mitigations against slowloris-like attacks. I’ve also written a more detailed writeup here: https://imtomt.github

WebRTC is the Problem

Lobste.rs (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-09 · 12.3/10

Despite the page title mentioning OpenAI, it has very little to do with the actual AI parts, only the real-time audio transport parts, which is why I've matched the URL slug instead. Comments

do you actually code on your phone?

r/devops (Tier 1) · Publié : 2026-05-10 · 12.0/10

genuine question. I see all these mobile terminal apps and SSH clients and I've never met anyone who actually uses them for real work. every time I've tried it's miserable and I stop after 5 minutes. the one exception I've found is approving stuff. I run a lot of long claude code / codex sessions and the main thing I need my phone for isn't writing code, it's just checking what the agent is doing and tapping approve when it asks. that's it. I don't need a full ter
